NONLINEAR LATTICE DYNAMICS:
FROM LOCALIZATION TO STATISTICAL BEHAVIOUR

Our aim is to gather at the pleasant surroundings of CIC, in Cuernavaca, Mexico, over a period of 3 weeks, a number of scientists actively interested in discussing research problems in the field of nonlinear lattice dynamics. Together with the more experienced scientists, we welcome the participation of some of their younger colleagues (post doctoral fellows and advanced Ph. D. students), in order to address open questions concerning long time stability, localization and emergence of statistical behaviour in Hamiltonian lattices. Particular attention will be paid to experiments, some currently under way and others in the design stage, which will help verify theoretical predictions. Our main approach will be classical, but questions relevant to quantum systems will also be addressed.
